Really Hungry Mama!

Last night Kev and I went for Mexican food...the pregnant lady indecision was really kicking in and I totally couldn't decide what I wanted to eat. Finally I narrowed my decision down to one combination plate with a few of my own personal requests. Through all of this, Kev sat patiently knowing what he wanted from the minute we walked in the door. Our waitress came and began to take our order. I told her the plate that I wanted, the substitutions, different item, change of sauce, no cheese on that, etc. (I just couldn't help myself). She very patiently wrote it all down and then began to walk away. This was when Kev spoke up "what about me?". The waitress came back with a smile, "I'm so sorry, what would you like?". When Kevin finished she went to put our order in.
When the waitress arrived at our table with the food, she handed over my combination plate first, and I noted some of my request hadn't been remembered! Then she began to put down the rest of the PLATES. Somewhere in there was Kev's dinner. We watched her for a minute in shock, and then I realized what had happened: She though all my changes were different dinners!! Smiling, she had brought me two full dinners with rice and beans and tortillas, and all of the extra plates and trimmings. I had to laugh! No wonder she didn't stick around for Kev's order!!
As It was, my combination plate was about 2 feet across (a huge Mexican feast by any standard) through my laughing I managed to choke out, "I'm hungry but not that hungry!!" And pointing to my one plate "just no cheese on this part!"
"Ooh!" she said, suddenly understanding, looking at my very big belly and laughing, "You just wanted one plate!"
After switching around some items (all my special requests remembered on different plates), she took the other plates away (no charge) and left me with exactly what I wanted. After she walked away Kev and I really had a good laugh... can you imagine what she was thinking when I kept ordering food (enough that she obviously thought, correctly, that it was plenty for Kev too)! And smiling sweetly, no judgement, the whole time! So funny!

Bless her heart... there was no way she was going to argue with a really hungry, very pregnant mama in any circumstances... 2 dinners, sure!... Extra food, no problem!... A bunch of changes, whatever you say!... You have changed your mind again, Okay! :)

We got dinner and a good laugh, and left a big tip!
What a good waitress! :P
